On November 18, IIJ strengthened the function to block access to malicious sites in the “IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service,” which provides the security functions required for Web access in the cloud, and 2020 as a “blocking function using its own database.” Announced that it will be available from December 1, 2014.
The “malware protection database” that we have been using for a long time is a malicious URL database based on the knowledge obtained from the malware countermeasure activity project “MITF (Malware Investigation Task Force)” that the company has been working on since 2007.
This function is a new addition of a unique database generated based on the analysis results of the “information analysis platform” that aggregates logs and event information obtained from security services and performs big data analysis. By using the communication logs of companies that have agreed to use logs, it is possible to mechanically extract potentially malicious destinations through multifaceted analysis.
By referring to two types of databases when blocking access to malicious sites, the defense function can be further strengthened.
