BASE doubles consolidated sales in Q3, more than doubles the number of shops opened

BASE’s consolidated sales for January-September 2020 (third quarter) increased 119.6% year-on-year to 5,996 million yen. Operating income was 1,146 million yen (a deficit of 280 million yen in the same period of the previous year). The BASE business continues to grow, and the number of new shops opened increased by 107% year-on-year.
 
Ordinary profit was 1,148 million yen (a deficit of 279 million yen), and quarterly net profit was 949 million yen (a deficit of 283 million yen).
 
In the BASE business, sales were 5,337.6 million yen (up 135.4% year-on-year) and operating income was 1,376,560,000 yen (a deficit of 36,130,000 yen year-on-year). Although the sharp increase in demand for nesting and consumer support consumption of shops have calmed down compared to the second quarter, monthly trends continue to grow at a high rate. As of September this year, the cumulative number of shops opened has exceeded 1.2 million.
